Contactless Meal Prep: 3 Services to Help You Stay on Point

With everything going on in the world, many are a little concerned about venturing out and getting even the most essential things like food and groceries.  While distancing yourself six feet from people may be working, many don’t want to chance it.  What’s the solution?  Contactless meal prep.

Unlike traditional delivery services where you greet the delivery person to accept your goods, the name is exactly what it sounds like – getting all of your essentials needed to meal prep only without you physically needing to be in contact with others.  The service is so simple that many are thinking they may never go back to the grocery store ever again due to its ease and convenience.

Contactless meal prep can be accomplished in several different ways – all of which involve food delivery to your doorstep without needing to be in contact with an actual person.  The individual doing the delivery simply drops the food off at your door and then leaves.

If you’re anti-social or an introvert, this is perfect!  All jokes aside, let’s dive into the services you can start using today for your contactless meal prep to ensure you are eating healthy, getting all of your macronutrients in for the day, and also taking in key micronutrients to help your body function optimally.

Note: With some of these contactless meal prep options below, you’re paying for the convenience which means there may be added charges on top of the items and products you ask your personal shopper to pick up for you such as shopper and delivery charges.

1. Instacart

The first to make our contactless meal prep list is a brand you’ve probably heard of and may already be familiar with – Instacart.  Instacart makes life simple by going to their app and ordering the food you want from a local grocer in your area such as Sam’s Club, Rite Aid, Aldi, PriceRite, BJ’s, and many more (even smaller chains that may only be available in your area).

Instacart allows you to shop for thousands of products and have them delivered to your home as fast as the same day – sometimes even within an hour.  The app or online dashboard on their website allows you to put in special requests as well as your preferences.  Need a product and don’t want to risk it being out of stock and going without it?  You can even put in a second preference just in case the location your personal shopper goes to is out of that item or product.

While not available in every city, it’s advised to head over to their website and type in your location to see if Instacart is available for your area and if so, the locations you can choose from to have your personal shopper go to on your behalf.  With Instacart, you can stay on your diet and never need to grocery shop ever again.  Now, if only you had a personal chef to do all the actual meal prep for you with the groceries you order.

2. DoorDash

Let’s say you stayed true to your diet plan this week and it’s time to have a cheat meal.  Where do you go?  What would you eat?  A burger?  Some pizza?  A few sushi rolls?  Heck, all of the above?  But the last thing you want to do is go out when everyone is supposed to be social distancing and risk catching the Rona and bringing it home to your family and loved ones.  That’s where DoorDash comes into play.

While DoorDash could be your cheat meal savior, you can order healthy meals directly from their app as well if you didn’t feel like preparing a meal (or nine).  Simply choose the location of your choice and order to your specifications and needs.

Like Instacart, DoorDash is a contactless meal prep delivery service that goes and picks up food on your behalf and drops it off at your door.  No human contact, just mouth-watering meals that you didn’t need to prepare with your own two hands.

You get to choose from places like Outback Steakhouse, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Smokey Bones, Subway, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Chili’s, Five Guys, Red Lobster, On the Border, Saladworks, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Jersey Mike’s, Papa John’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, IHOP, and many more.  Whatever you’re hungry for, the DoorDash contactless meal prep service has you covered.
