The Best Peanut Butter You Can Buy

Why couldn’t every day be January 24? That would make it NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER DAY! So, it’s only fitting that I give you some of my top recommendations for the best peanut butter you can buy.

If you’re in the fitness industry, you already know how much we love our peanut butter. For those of you who aren’t in the fitness industry, consider dieting without PB like giving your kid away for a few months (for some, you might actually like that — so pretend that would be a bad thing). We like putting peanut butter on and in everything we can. This can be cookies, cupcakes, cakes, toast, fruit, veggies, chicken, pretty much anything.

To be honest, I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t like PB. And if they don’t, I’m not even sure we can be friends anymore (sarcasm). I should point out the obvious, that nut butters are high in fat (which isn’t bad) and that eating too much (even the natural kind) can completely blow your daily caloric intake out of the water. You need to be careful of the serving size and use it sparingly to add extra flavor and healthy fats to foods and meals. But, without further delay, let’s dive into the best peanut butter you can buy (in my opinion).

The Best Peanut Butter

Below are four of the best options you can purchase. Check them out and try them all to see which ranks at the top of your list!

1.  JIF Natural Creamy Peanut Butter

The JIF Natural Peanut Butter is a great choice when looking for a spread. While there aren’t any peanut pieces in the actual jar, you can easily spread this variety on celery, bananas, apples, pretty much whatever you want (use your imagination). The taste is amazing and this is one of my favorite and definitely on my list for the best peanut butter.

2.  Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter

I generally go back and forth between the JIF and the Skippy natural peanut butters. It depends on if one is on sale or if there is some type of deal going on with one or the other. However, these are my go-to’s. One method I prefer to use these products is in protein shakes. I’ll toss a spoonful in the blender along with all of my other ingredients, mix it up, and I’m instantly in a better mood.

3.  PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter

Getting away from the actual spread versions, there are two powdered PB products that I’ve come to love and throw in the rotation. The first one, and definitely one to make the list for best peanut butter, is PB2. At first, I thought to myself, “Why the heck would someone want a powdered version?” Well, it’s actually for many reasons. This powdered version is pressed to remove all of the oil which helps remove much of the overall fat content. What you are left with is a lower calorie PB powder that you don’t necessarily need to feel bad about eating. This can be used in protein shakes, baked goods, yogurt, cereal, just about anything. You can even add a small amount of water and turn it into a paste, similar to the texture of creamy PB — and it’s natural. Want something a little different? PB2 also makes their powdered peanut butter in a chocolate flavor as well!

4.  PBfit All-Natural Peanut Butter Powder

Just like in the creamy spread variety, I go back and forth between the PB2 powder and the PBfit powder based on whichever has the best price when I need replenishment. Honestly, either variety can be added to the best peanut butter list as both are amazing. The calories between this powdered version and a normal nut butter are about 1/3 of the total calorie content per serving. So, if you’re trying to keep your calories low or under control, but are a PB freak like me, you can’t go wrong with a powdered version.

I hope you enjoyed our list of the best peanut butter choices! Do you have a favorite that we left off the list that we should try? Let us know!
