Gun YouTube Channels Are Under Fire

The YouTube Gods don’t seem to care for gun YouTube channels. In fact, many of them are getting demonetized, having their videos removed, and are being shadow-banned. While you’d think we have freedom of speech here in America, some platforms, like YouTube, are not a fan of gun YouTube channels.

YouTube has specific policies regarding firearm-related content on its platform. These policies were in place to strike a balance between allowing some firearm-related content for educational and safety purposes while prohibiting content that promotes violence, illegal activities, or harm. Gun YouTube channels are getting strikes against their accounts regularly it seems.

Here are some reasons why gun YouTube channels may NOT be entirely banned:

  1. Educational and Safety Content: YouTube allows firearm-related content that is educational, instructional, or focuses on safety measures. Many channels provide reviews, tutorials on safe handling, and discussions about firearms from a responsible and educational perspective.
  2. Legal Considerations: Firearms are legal in many parts of the world, and individuals have a right to discuss and demonstrate their lawful use. YouTube takes into account local laws and regulations when enforcing its policies.
  3. Monetization: YouTube may monetize gun YouTube channels through advertising, which can generate revenue for the platform. As long as content adheres to YouTube’s guidelines, it can continue to be monetized.

However, YouTube has also taken actions to restrict certain types of firearm-related content:

  1. Restrictions on High-Capacity Magazines and Accessories: YouTube has banned gun YouTube channel videos that promote the sale of high-capacity magazines and accessories like bump stocks, which have been associated with mass shootings.
  2. Age Restrictions: Some firearm-related gun YouTube channels content may be age-restricted to prevent minors from accessing it. Viewers may need to verify their age to watch such content.
  3. Stricter Enforcement: YouTube has periodically reviewed and updated its policies to be more stringent in addressing potentially harmful or dangerous firearm-related content.

It’s important to note that YouTube’s policies can change over time, and enforcement may vary. Gun YouTube channels in this space are expected to adhere to the platform’s guidelines, and YouTube may take actions such as demonetization, age restrictions, or even removal of content or Gun YouTube channels that violate these policies.

For the most accurate and current information on YouTube’s policies regarding firearm-related content, it is advisable to consult their official community guidelines and policy updates directly on the YouTube platform.

And as always, go out and get the proper training needed to be proficient with your firearm(s) and EDC gear. I am not an instructor or tactical ninja, and I don’t pretend to be one on the weekends. I’m simply someone who seeks knowledge, improvement, and proficiency when it comes to self-defense and the ability to protect my family and those around me. You are your own first line of defense, seek the training of a certified and experienced instructor. If you’re looking for information to learn from and transfer over to your training on the range, subscribe to my favorites for the best gun YouTube channels. You’ll thank me later.
