One of the hottest trends and terms associated with sculpted physiques for both men and women that we keep hearing about is the word “macros.” But what are macros? The word macros is shorthand for “macronutrients.” Macros indicate the sources and associated caloric nutrient value in all foods. Simply stated, macros refer to protein, carbohydrates, and fats.

Carbohydrates which provide ~4 calories per gram.
Fats which provide ~9 calories per gram.

Tracking your macros is a fantastic method to begin to understand your overall daily caloric intake, sources of energy, and amounts you are consuming.
