Compex Wireless Muscle Stim Review: The Best on the Market?

In the search for the best muscle stimulator on the market, I have yet to find anything that compares to the Compex Wireless. The others on the market that I tried simply cannot even come close. I got the Compex Wireless about a month ago and have been using it regularly not only for recovery, but for the strength benefits. Now, I’m not going to lie… I went into this thinking the Compex Wireless was “just like the others” which just happen to be a pile of dog turds filled with a bunch of hype. So, I already went into this review ready to be disappointed. However, I’ve been thrilled with the Compex Wireless and I’m excited to tell you about it.

With 9 total programs (4 strength, 3 recovery, 2 warmup), 3 levels of progress, wireless use, and maximum mobility, it honestly doesn’t get any better than the Compex Wireless. When you are looking for optimal performance, speedy recovery, increased endurance, enhanced strength, optimal muscle hypertrophy, improved blood flow, and injury prevention, nothing compares. And if you’re an athlete, this device will be your new best friend. I’ve tried my fair share of “muscle stimulators” on the market and all of them left me unsatisfied. All of the devices I have tried in the past all seemed to emit a sharp electrical stim feeling that was very uncomfortable. In order to truly stimulate the muscle you would be in so much pain that it was truly unbearable and not worth going through.

The 9 programs with this device are as follows:

  • endurance
  • resistance
  • strength
  • explosive strength
  • pre-warm up
  • training recovery
  • competition recovery
  • massage
  • potentiation

The Compex Wireless device doesn’t give you the sharp intense shock like other units on the market. It gives you a gradual “grab” of the muscle which you can truly feel hitting the entire muscle. You can use this unit when you exercise, while standing/sitting, or when laying down and using a recovery program. You have complete control of the adjustment and can fine-tune your program based on your individual pain tolerance to get the most benefit from the strength programs.

The ability to be wireless is simply the icing on the cake. I’ve used the devices that you plug each pod into the unit and then you need to figure out how to move with the wires attached — it was a pain. With the Compex Wireless, you get everything you could possibly want in the set. You get a carrying case for portability, charger, charging station, (4) pods, different sizes of electrodes, the wireless stimulator, and of course all of the guides on how to effectively use the device.

When using the Compex Wireless, I have never felt muscle soreness like I did using this device. It truly works. To see how the recovery program faired, I started using the recovery programs following my training sessions and I found my overall muscle soreness was then minimized. I have even used the Compex Wireless while at my desk to help with recovery as well as blood flow. The uses of this device are endless.

Now for the big question… Does this unit aid in building muscle and strength? YES! In as little as a month, my strength has increased tremendously, my muscles are much denser and hard, and after measuring my before and after’s (30-day test), I can definitely say that if you consistently use this device, you have the ability to add quality muscle mass. No hype. No smoke and mirrors. And believe me, I was trying to find something to prove that this device is just like all the others on the market, but I can’t. It’s honestly the best.

I’ve used the unit on my legs, calves, arms, chest, back, shoulders, abs, and yes… even my glutes (don’t judge me). Charging the unit is quick and simple. You place the pods into the charging station, and the stimulator unit docks directly into the front of the charging station. The unit will tell you if all the pods are detected or not, and when they are done charging. Once charged, you can place the stimulator into the storage area inside the charging station and then close the lid for storage.

One thing to note is that the unit beeps during the program cycles. If you don’t want to hear the beep, you can turn off the sounds. This is helpful if you’re flying on a plane and want to use the Compex Wireless for enhanced blood flow without annoying those around you.

Would I recommend trying this unit? Absolutely and without hesitation. If the wireless device is a little outside of your price range, they do have other models you can choose from (however, they are the wired version). The Compex website has a great selection of videos to show you how to use your device to the fullest. Regardless of the model you are considering, I can say with confidence that you’re going to fall in love with your device. For more information, head over to their website and that will give you a better idea of what you’re getting with the various models.
